Cindy Stever
Meridian, Idaho
Staff Sergeant Tony Stever, 36, was the go-to guy when it came to making sure that vehicles in his unit were running and in good condition. "Tony could fix a vehicle with a rubber band and a broken piece of string!" says his wife of 10 years, Cindy Stever. "In fact, there was not one vehicle in the military that he was not licensed to repair. I recently learned that he had actually welded a bottle cap onto an engine part, and as a result, the vehicle was fixed!"
Loyal to his country, the cause, and his buddies in his unit, he was determined to stay in Iraq even when an opportunity to leave presented itself. "He died April 7, 2003," says Cindy, "but he loved being in the military and he wouldn't for the world leave the men in his unit in a crisis." |
