Jenniece Fraise
Gretna, Louisiana

Cpl. David Fraise, 24, of New Orleans was proud of his service to his country. "He did everything he was supposed to do for the Army plus more," said his wife Jenniece. "He was dedicated to his job and was looking at making the military a career."

David joined the army in June 2001. He was assigned to Company A, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

David was sent to Afghanistan in 2003. "He got the word he was going to Afghanistan right after I found out I was pregnant with Jireh," Jenniece explained. "They were trying to capture terrorists in the mountains of Afghanistan, but he didn't talk about it much."

David was killed on June 7, 2004 when an improvised explosive device hit his patrol in Kandahar, Afghanistan. "He driving a humvee patrolling the area around the base and they went over a bridge and there was an IED placed on the drivers side," said Jenniece. "His side had the most impact from the bomb. He was the only soldier killed in the humvee." Two other soldiers were injured that day. David is survived by his wife, Jenniece and daughter, Jireh.

"He was a very good man," said Jenniece. "His priority was his family. He served God with all of his heart and he tried to live his life as God would want. Everyone always remembers David's smile, because he was always smiling, always singing, and always happy. He liked to sing gospel music in church. I don't have enough words to describe how special he was."
