Joseph’s son, Marine Lance Corporal Michael Jason Williams, left, fell on March 23rd, 2003, at the outset of the Iraqi portion of the War on Terror, when killed in action on the outskirts of An Nasiriyah, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. His father Joseph Williams served in Vietnam as Navy BM3 from 1964-1966.
