“Camp Desert Kids” returned to Fort Bragg
A day to learn about deployment for military children

Families United, the nation’s largest military families organization, hosted the second installment of Camp Desert Kids on June 17, at Fort Bragg. The mission of the Camp Desert Kids program is to help military children better understand the deployments that shape their lives. Through a fun and educational event, Camp Desert Kids gave military children at Fort Bragg the opportunity to experience deployment with their homefront parent in a unique way. The children went through a series of stations that included ‘Troop Readiness Center,’ ‘Headquarters,’ ‘Afghanistan,’ ‘Mess Hall’ and ‘Out Processing.’
