Help Children In Need This Christmas

November 23, 2009

Dear Friends,

Imagine a child spending the Holidays without their mother or father; now imagine a child spending the Holidays without gifts. At Families United, we are all too familiar with the absence of a loved one, but recognize that it’s part of being a military family. We also recognize that service is a family affair and we can do something to help those in need. With the holidays around the corner, Families United is once again raising money for Toys for Tots.

In a unique and exciting project, on December 6th, Families United will team up with Toys for Tots and Toys R Us, to host a special event for the children of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. As the most populated Army post in the country, with one of the toughest deployment schedules, the military families of Fort Bragg have long been serving alongside their loved ones in uniform. This event will allow military children to experience the joy of giving by selecting a gift to be given to another child in need. In return, they will receive a fun filled goody bag and a morning of Holiday fun. Your contribution enables these children, who have already given so much, to learn the value and beauty in giving to another child.

A gift of $30 will enable each of the participating children from Fort Bragg to buy a gift for a child in need. Please consider giving to this important cause.

All of the selected toys will be donated to the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program which collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as gifts to needy children around the nation.

Sincerely,
